Free Choir Sample Pack

The choir patch was developed by Mihai Sorohan together with Richard Osborn for Mu.Lab Multisampla and Selcuk Bor (from Symphony of Specters) for Kontakt.

Choir:
Citrina - soprano & alto
Jelena - alto
Roman & Dimitri (Timohi) - tenor
Jonny Zed - tenor
Mihai - tenor & baritone

KONTAKT
The Kontakt patch is "monolith" so you don't need to copy folders or keep track where are the files.
To run the patch you need a full license of Kontakt. In Kontakt Player (the free version of Kontakt) the patch will run just in demo mode (that means 15 minutes and then stop).

MULAB
A reworked version of the pack named "Choir Vowel Ensemble Pack" is available on the official Mutools website on the "Download" section. Jo from Mutools converted all 6 patches into a MuSynth patch and also converted all samples to Ogg files to keep filesize low (in the original is 32 bit wav). The quality is still decent but the size is much smaller, so it's more suitable for people with a slower internet connection or with smaller HD drives.Mu.Lab Patch: DOWNLOAD
How to install:
1. Get Mu.Lab (free version would do it just fine)
2. Download and unzip the archive.
3. Move the patch folder into the Mulab/User/Library/Mux folder

By downloading the provided files you accept the following terms:
  • You get a personal non-exclusive non-transferable right to use the sample content as an integral part of your musical composition, in combination with other sounds, for both personal and commercial purpose. You may not use it for commercial sample libraries (put it on a CD and sell it, sell it online, etc)
  • You may use the sample content as an integral part of your musical composition, in combination with other sounds, for both personal and commercial purpose.
  • I don't accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, liability, injury or upset caused to or suffered by you as a result of misusing this material.
Enjoy the freebie.

  1. Hi! Thank you very much for that! Are you planning to create a staccato version too?

    1. I plan to create a new library with a bigger choir, recorded in a better place with better preamps and more stuff like staccato, solo voices, some clusters and glissando and so on...

  2. Hi Mihai. I would very much like to hear some more of your free choir wav samples. Have you had any new releases recently?

    Thanks

  4. Is there someway you could put up another download link that is not from uploading? It keeps telling me that my download limit has been reached. I have downloaded anything from that site yet. @_@ I really want to use this. Probably something that could rival EWQL with a couple of tweaking.

  6. Hi. What is the difference between the wet and the dry patches?

    1. Sorry for the late reply. I don't get notifications when somebody leave a comment :(

So, the difference is not in the samples but in the patch. The wet patch has a convolution reverb on it.

  7. Hi, Mihai,
    This library is just great!
I an using the Kontakt version.
I have an "O-eee" pattern I implemented using the following MIDI controllers:
Ctrl 1 (Value 100) at the begining of the "O" vowel
Ctrl 1 (Value 50 at the begining of the "eee" vowel
The attack on the "eee" is very strong: it does not sound like legato.
How can I smooth this attack?
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers,
    Eric.
