Footprints Jazz Tutorial & Free Backing Track

"Footprints" is a jazz standard composed by Wayne Shorter, first appearing on his 1966 album Adam's Apple.
Whilst in 6/4 metre, it is debatable whether it could be called a jazz waltz, since the feel could be divided into compound duple or simple triple time.

This was one of my first jazz tunes I learned and after so much time I still find it intriguing and the harmonies very inspiring for improvisation. That's why I decided to make a backing track, more for the beginner level, not very fast, so the less advanced can play on those nice harmonies and the more advanced can play "on the double" :))

Cantaloupe Island Jazz Tutorial

"Cantaloupe Island" is a jazz standard composed by Herbie Hancock. It was one of the first examples of a modal jazz composition set to a funky beat.

Because is a well known and also fun to play on it, I made a backing track for you guys to fool around with it.
Introduction 8 bars, then structure repeats 5 times, last with an outro.

Christmas (late) SampleTank Freebie

I wanted to make a free glockenspiel patch for Christmas, patch I thought to be for Mu.Lab and Kontakt, but I thought "why not try SampleTank, now that it's free".
Well, took a while to make it, mainly because SampleTank is a very closed and hard to understand, at least the free version. So, because I was late with it, I thought "why not throw in there some more stuff?".

Install:
Unzip into the "Instruments" folder.
The structure should be Program Files/IK Multimedia/ Instruments/Mihai Sorohan Sounds/.
You should be able to acces it from ST menu.

No loop points, no velocity multi layering, but still I think it might be useful. All samples recorded at 32 bit and converted to 16 bit wav stereo.
There are available 8 more child presets by jobromedia originally posted on KVR.

Extract them in the same folder where you extracted the original samples.
In order for the child presets to work, you should previously have the parent original samples.

Arpeggio Study no2 For Guitar

Original made way back in 2008, now reworked.
I tried to cover two aspects of guitar playing, the triads and the sweep picking. Basically all started because practicing arpeggios can be boring, so a technique switching and building sort of a melody (and all on top of a backing track) can "spice up" a bit practicing.

KONTAKT
The Kontakt patch is "monolith" so you don't need to copy folders or keep track where are the files.
To run the patch you need a full license of Kontakt. In Kontakt Player (the free version of Kontakt) the patch will run just in demo mode (that means 15 minutes and then stop).

MULAB
A reworked version of the pack named "Choir Vowel Ensemble Pack" is available on the official Mutools website on the "Download" section. Jo from Mutools converted all 6 patches into a MuSynth patch and also converted all samples to Ogg files to keep filesize low (in the original is 32 bit wav).The quality is still decent but the size is much smaller, so it's more suitable for people with a slower internet connection or with smaller HD drives.Mu.Lab Patch: DOWNLOAD
How to install:
1. Get Mu.Lab (free version would do it just fine)
2. Download and unzip the archive.
3. Move the patch folder into the Mulab/User/Library/Mux folder
